About Me

Chronically ill. 4 chillies on the neurospicy scale. Occasionally funny; permanently tired.

Hi, I’m Charlotte – a full-time chaos, part-time human, and the reluctant CEO of a body that treats reliability as a personal insult. No seriously, my therapist called me a ‘low-functioning adult’ – ouch. In fairness, I can’t really get through a workday without crying, having a migraine, or fully shutting down due to pain. And those are the easy days.

So, the About Me part: Besides being a walking medical disaster, I am actually a person. Shocking – I know! I’m a UK northerner, in my late 20s (yes, my birthyear has a ’19’ in it, I’m disgusted too), and I’m writing to the void because it’s better than pure rumination (or so the aforementioned therapist suggests). My particular blend of unfortunate conditions includes Fibromyalgia (yes, it’s real – I live it everyday), PCOS, Diabetes, Autism (that ones less unfortunate and more just my existence), and a few other mystery guests still waiting in the diagnostic wings. I also juggle work, life, and the near-daily plight of existential crises – but who doesn’t?

Chronically Unreliable is my corner of the internet to vent, reflect, and occasionally overshare about what it’s like to live in a body that doesn’t read the calendar, follow instructions, or respect the concept of “plans.” It’s also a space where I can be unapologetically sarcastic, because humour is my favourite coping mechanism (well, that and meltdown fuelled monologues as I spiral to my poor family).

If you’re a fellow spoonie, neurospicy human, or just someone trying to understand what it’s like to live with a body and brain that aren’t my friends – welcome. You’ll find no toxic positivity here, no miracle cures, and absolutely no unsolicited advice. Just one woman’s attempt to make sense of the chaos, one unreliable post at a time.

Oh, and there’s a heavy emphasis on ‘Unreliable’ – I might post once in a year or 50 times in a week. That’s just life. My life, anyways.
